US tariff on european food
The United States currently has tariffs in place on food and agricultural products imported from the European Union.
Key Points Regarding US Tariffs on European Food:
"Reciprocal" Tariffs: As part of a broader trade strategy, the US imposed a 20% tariff on goods imported from the EU, including many food products. This was part of a larger initiative to address trade imbalances.
Affected Products: A wide array of European food and beverage exports to the US are subject to these tariffs. This includes:
Wine, Beer and Spirits
Cheese
Chocolate
Olive Oil
Fruit and Vegetable Preparations
Impact on Businesses: The tariffs have a significant impact on European food and beverage exporters, potentially leading to increased costs for American consumers and reduced sales.
EU Response: The European Union has strongly criticized the US tariffs and has considered retaliatory measures on US goods.
Temporary Pause: It's important to note that some of the tariffs were temporarily paused for 90 days. However, the baseline 10% tariff and some additional tariffs remain in place.

22:13 US tariff on european food
