The advantage using local SSD is said to spare the access to main RAM.
So what's the current fastest SSD vs. RAM?
Would local SSD be a contender beating main RAM? esp. matching the calculation speed of GPU? i.e. don't let the GPU wait for data I/O.

BTW: Anyone here using eGPU? any recommendation?
