A few days ago, Ross Feingold, former Asia-Pacific Chairman of the U.S. Republican Party, criticized Chinese netizens for their lack of sympathy towards Jews regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict, sparking widespread discussion. In response, a netizen wrote a lengthy article, drawing on historical references, to educate this Jewish American Republican member on history. Subsequently, the Republican deleted his comment.
*How strong is the fighting spirit of Chinese netizens?*
Mr. Feingold, I was shocked and outraged to see your response to the netizens.
Your statement, "During WWII, if the whole world had helped the Jews, 6 million Jews wouldn't have been killed," needs to be refuted. This cannot be used as a justification for the massacre of Palestinians.
Moreover, your statement is incorrect. During WWII, Shanghai, China, which was suffering from invasion, unconditionally accepted more than 50,000 Jewish refugees.
However, their response was to collude with the Japanese, attempting to establish a Jewish state in northeastern China, known as the "Fugu Plan." Fortunately, this plan ultimately failed. Their favorite "The Farmer and the Snake" story did not materialize in China.
More unbelievably, just two weeks ago, an employee of the Israeli embassy publicly claimed on camera that the location they were standing in Shanghai was the French Concession.
Of course, the connection between China and the Jewish people goes far beyond this.
As early as the Song Dynasty, about a thousand years ago, Jews entered China as a wandering people and thrived on this land.
During the Song Dynasty, one of the most prosperous in ancient China, they enjoyed considerable benefits.
But during the fall of the Southern Song Dynasty, when its citizens fled south, a Jewish merchant named Pu used his private army to kill many Southern Song citizens, offering their heads as a tribute to the Yuan army.
Decades later, when Zhu Yuanzhang overthrew the Yuan Dynasty and established the Ming Dynasty, the Han people regained power but did not settle scores with the Jews.
During the Opium Wars, the Jewish Sassoon family profited by flooding China with opium, causing immense suffering. You, having lived in Asia for a long time, should not be unfamiliar with this.
Chinese people have never troubled the Jews because China began moral education 3,000 years ago.
"The Book of Documents"—the oldest Chinese classic still in existence, was written in the 10th century BCE, just 3,000 years ago, around the time when your people were expelled from the so-called Promised Land and began their wanderings.
If you are well-versed in your history, you would know that the Egyptians took you in, but you repeatedly betrayed them, leading to slaughter and expulsion by the Pharaoh.
The Romans took you in and even established a Jewish province, but you rebelled while King Trajan was on an eastern expedition, when the country was poorly defended.
After defeating the small garrison, you slaughtered civilians, skinned victims for clothing, consumed their flesh, and fed their bodies to beasts.
In Cyprus, Salamis, and Libya, Jews massacred a total of 220,000 civilians.
Against civilians, Jews were brutal, but Trajan’s two legions quickly defeated them.
The angry Roman legions marched from Mesopotamia, down the eastern Mediterranean, and into Egypt, nearly annihilating the Jewish population along the way.
Later, Jews rebelled again and targeted Christians, killing many believers.
Unfortunately for them, they faced one of Rome's wisest kings—Hadrian, who mobilized 120,000 troops to massacre Jews.
He learned from Trajan’s experience, abolished the Jewish province, and dispersed the Jewish population, thus beginning their global diaspora.
Then there was Titus, who slaughtered Jews in Jerusalem, leaving only the Western Wall of the Second Temple, where your people have since wept.
Over thousands of years, Jews have faced countless massacres and expulsions, often repaid by betrayal.
Despite this, you arrogantly consider yourselves a superior race, God's chosen people.
You never reflect on past lessons, and your culture is inherently destructive, vilifying, excluding, and hostile to other peoples.
However, this won't work in China. The Chinese have their moral values, never seeing themselves as a superior race, nor fearing any self-proclaimed superior race.
The Chinese are inclusive, have a sense of shame, know how to reflect, and understand gratitude.
John Rabe, a Nazi who saved Chinese lives during the Nanjing Massacre, is remembered with gratitude by every Chinese who knows his story.
A few years ago, when his grandson's hospital in Germany lacked medical supplies, the Chinese were the first to donate money and goods.
The head of the Swedish Red Cross, whose name I forget, saved 35,000 people during WWII, including 6,000 Jews. Later, he was sent by the UN to Jerusalem to oversee the Israeli-Palestinian border issue. Just for saying a few fair words, Jews shot him six times, killing him on the spot.
During WWII, Yugoslavia saved a Jewish girl who, fifty years later, ordered indiscriminate bombing of Yugoslavia, dismembering it. When asked in an interview if she regretted bombing Yugoslavia, she replied, "No." She was Madeleine Albright, the first female U.S. Secretary of State.
In 1947, Jews arrived in Palestine by ship, with signs saying, "The Germans destroyed our homes, don’t destroy our hope."
The kind-hearted Palestinians took them in, only for the Jews to claim it was their Promised Land, slaughtering their benefactors for over 70 years, creating the largest open-air prison in history.
How much more sympathy does the world need to show to satisfy you?
An ancient Chinese classic, "The Book of the Lost States," says:
"A small country that does not act humble, a weak force that does not fear the strong, those who insult their powerful neighbors without courtesy, and those who are greedy and unwise in their interactions, are doomed."
I present this text to you, please show some self-respect.
