My deepest sympathies to these families. The loss of life is tragic and truly heartbreaking. There is no going back, but leaders need to admit the role they played and give a full apologize (of course they won't). After the Hilo tsunami, Hawaii made sure to install a warning system. The local government in Texas had decades to do the same for the flood zone but decided it wasn't worth the cost or effort. Or am I missing something?
Early in the search, Gov. Abbott extolled the value of prayer and suggested it had been effective in saving a number of lives. In light of what are clearly the subsequent failures of prayer, can the governor acknowledge the slashing of government programs by a slash-and-burn president? And the role of fossil fuels, the black gold of the Texas economy?
Abbott believes assigning responsibility is for “losers”. Well there are a couple hundred who LOST their life and I’m pretty sure their families are going to want to know who is responsible for making them LOSERS of their loved ones.
