Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin[g] (born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili;[d] 18 December [O.S. 6 December] 1878[1] – 5 March 1953) was a Soviet politician, political theorist and revolutionary who led the Soviet Union from 1924 until his death in 1953.

Nikita Khrushchev
Khrushchev was born in a Russian village close to the Ukrainian border, but raised in Eastern Ukraine, which is now de facto ruled by pro-Russian rebels backed by Moscow.
In time, Khrushchev became the head of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. After Joseph Stalin’s death, he consolidated power and led the Soviet state between 1953 and 1964.
Leonid Brezhnev
Brezhnev was born and raised in central Ukraine. Some official Soviet documents like his passport also listed his ethnicity as Ukrainian - but others believe he was of Russian descent. Brezhnev was one of Khruschev’s proteges and ruled the Soviet state between 1964 and 1982, the second longest-reigning communist leader of the state after Stalin.
Konstantin Chernenko
Chernenko was another Ukrainian, who also reached the upper echelons of Soviet power. He led the communist state for a brief period from 1984 to 1985.
He rose in the communist party ranks thanks to the help of another Ukrainian, Brezhnev.
Mikhail Gorbachev
Gorbachev, whose maternal family had Ukrainian descent and migrated from Chernihiv, a city in northern Ukraine, succeeded Chernenko as the next general secretary of the ruling Soviet Communist Party.
Gorbachev established the office of the President of the Soviet Union in 1990. He was the first and the last president of the Soviets, overseeing the dissolution of the world’s communist superpower. In total, he had ruled the Soviets from 1985 to 1991.

China has intensified efforts to clean up the internet from false news and rumors, closing more than 100 000 online accounts over the past month.
The Cyberspace Administration of China launched a special campaign to clean up online information, focusing on social media accounts that disseminate "fake news" and impersonate state media.
The regulator said it had wiped 107 000 accounts of counterfeit news units and news anchors and 835 000 pieces of fake news information since April 6.

We publish a request from the editors of Al Jazeera and the answer:
Dear Evgeny Viktorovich,
On behalf of the Al Jazeera TV channel, we welcome you to Qatar, Doha and ask you to answer a few questions:
Disagreements between you and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Russia are becoming an occasion for discussion around the world. Many assume that your disagreements may threaten you with a prison term (for discrediting the RF Armed Forces) or your life. Why did your dispute go beyond closed channels to the public? Do you fear for your safety and life?
Many say that your open dispute with the Ministry of Defense aggravates the military, moral and image positions of the Russian forces? How could you comment on this?
We publish a comment by Evgeny Prigozhin:
“Dear Al Jazeera editors!
I treat your publication with respect, but the questions you ask are purely domestic in nature. Therefore, if such questions are asked to me by a Russian patriotic publication, I will certainly answer them.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to answer these questions for you. For any other issues that are not related to the internal Russian agenda, I will be happy to be with youcommunicate".

We publish a request from the editors of the Notebook publication and the answer:
Hello, Evgeny Viktorovich!
Earlier, you refused to answer questions from Al Jazeera ( saying that you would answer them to a Russian patriotic publication.
In this connection, our editors ask you to answer the following questions:
Today the existing disagreements between you and the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense are being discussed all over the world. Many assume that these disagreements may threaten you with a prison term (for discrediting the RF Armed Forces) or threaten you with danger.
1) Why did your dispute go beyond closed channels to the public? Do you fear for your safety and life?
2) Many people say that your open dispute with the Ministry of Defense aggravates the military, moral and image positions of the Russian forces? How could you comment on this?
