not the water pump, but the engine water outlet, mine has a little crack, it does not effect the car, I have changed the hose connecting the water outlet and expansion tank, $20 or $30 part and half an hour self labor. I am keeping my eyes on the crack, if I decide to change it, it will cost ~$30 parts and one hour labor.
所以要特别注意汽车降温的问题
The cruze uses the electronic controlled thermostat, the same as BMW's. I have been avoiding the European cars, but I could not escape this electronic controlled thermostat. I am in hot Texas, in summer, the cooling may get overwhelmed when driving in local and using AC. The way to mitigate the cooling effect is to use the one lower gear ration, not asking the engine too much load. It might be 10 year old thermostat, not working as it should. Changing out the thermostat is also a ~$50 parts and one hour self labor.

My beloved Civic was a 5 speed manual, NA engine, ~100HP(?). Unfortunately, it was rear ended in 2012, it was totalled. In the last, I was forced ot sold it to the junk yard, got only $400. At first I wanted to keep the car as the donner, buy another really cheap car (use it shell) and transfer the engine and transmission into the shell. Well, I kept the car in my drive way, covered it with a canopy, but the HOA was not happy, after storing on my drive way for eight months, the HOA forced me to remove it. I do have a two car garage, but I am also a old steel bicycle collector, my garage is full with my 30+ road bicycles. Anyway, the HOA shattered one of my American dream.
