65岁被自动踢去Medicare.

另一个朋友报残疾人，也是用了两年Obama Care 被自动踢去Medicare,没到65岁。

这俩都是美国人。所以没绿卡的65岁以上的怎么搞还是不清楚。

我试填了一下，53俱乐部的最多补贴五百多/月，免强够上HMO。 LOL

然后，我们以前的秘书老太太，白血病，一年药费十万，公司养了她三年后炒了，她超过65岁，用Medicare 她需要的特定抗癌药不cover, 然后社工不知道怎么操作，把她搞到Obama Care 那，就cover了。

Actually zero income is not an issue because for, an example, I can always loan money (zero interest) to an applicant so it will generate 12K annual income. But remember as a sponsor, my income will also count as income for the applicant thus casuing monthly premium to skyrocket.

Then you don't have to worry about anything. Medicaid is not public charge, according to new federal explanation (see 2022 public charge rules).

You need to ask a tax expert.

a couple of clarifications:

1. I am not concerned about public charge as I know this doesn't come into play in this case.
2. I was not clear on the interest free loans. I write a check of 275K to the applicant and he invests the 275K in Tbills and gets about 12K a year under his SSN so that is considered his income and that will meet obama care income requirements. The loan rolls every year so it is clear I get the 275K back (i.e. not a gift). In the worst case when push comes to shove the 12K interest will be treated as gift and it is under the annual tax free gift limit so not much downside risk.

As I said I appreciate your input but in reality the issue is still an issue as anyone sponsoring a parent outside NY/CA/MA etc will need to count their income as the applicant's (because of the financial support affidavits in greencard application). This greatly reduces the obama care federal subsidies and in turn could increase the monthly premimum to a tune of 2K a month. It is a not a problem if someone can buy obama care, it is a matter of getting ACA/Obama Care at what cost.

You are not wasting your time repeating your statements. I think these discussions are healthy and are helpful to everyone. Your reply precisely highlighted some of the misunderstandings between people who are facing this issue vs people who are not (aka those in various states like CA/NY/MA etc etc).

想起埃及神庙了。就是放在一个房间里感觉不伦不类。你去过柏林没？我很喜欢Pergamon博物馆里的那个古希腊神庙，就是放在房间里也可惜了，不接地气。

主要大的那个喜欢。大的那个，从小就喜欢装样子。刚两岁大的时候，看博物馆就看的晶晶有味，站在那些鬼都看不懂的画面前，看看，还点点头...小的那个不愿意去艺术博物馆，但是科学馆和自然历史馆，都看得很高兴。

芝加哥科学馆对于小孩来说，太好玩了。根本就舍不得走。比波士顿那个强多了。field 什么都有。我最喜欢它的几个人类展厅，讲非洲人和古代美洲人生活的。
