The K guy would be judged very differently if the circumstance were greatly changed, or if to a more knowledgeable audience. His rudeness, unkindness, or provocativeness was conveniently ignored by too many people, since the conflict was enflamed into a one-sided/"victorious" war.
(See my transcript of the "real" beginning communication between him and the three others, and also "...japanses... japanese.... can you dance?.... british girls are more fun...")
I know little about the genre of his music. I hated Blues when I first heard it in 1990s. Woogie Boogie sounds better than its dad, but not by a lot, to me personally --- of course.
I would hate hearing it often if everyday I must walk by the piano only to... On an "ordinary" day, he didn't seem attract a lot of people, to say the least. Not many people even turn their heads to his direction. So, likely, I am not alone. To further confirm that I am not outrageously wrong, I googled "boogie woogie boring". I immediately noticed the following from 2019. (To be followed by a couple of more posts.)

Super reasonable lady asks him not to bash on the piano.
He agrees then intentionally bashes out boogie woogie, the only thing he can play. She leaves, good for her.
He continues bashing out woogie and transitions into the first movement of Moonlight Sonata, the most cliche piece to play on a public piano. And of course he only plays four measures of it before bashing out more woogie.
Then he transitions into playing Minuet in G, a song I am literally teaching to a seven year old right now, and of course he's playing it wrong. But don't worry he remembers to yell out, "this is Bach" to make sure the audience knows he is a man of class and taste.

Later in this video...
He kicks a nice lady off the piano (he always does) and nonchalantly puts his coffee on the piano (!!!)
Then in the video he notes that one of the keys is stuck and he has the gall to say, "someone has been bashing on the keyboard".
God I really fucking hate this guy.

He is actually extremely talented,he can play anything by ear pretty much on the spot. There are a lot of videos where he does that. But yeah, he usually only plays boogie woogie.

I like his earlier video's; he was a bit more humble and had more respect. Asking if he could join in and such.
Now, he just joins in whatever.
I wonder how many takes it take to get a video that works and actually gets uploaded. Because I for sure would say something to him when he would just interrupt me in the way he does.

I just watched a video on YT of this guy rudely push aside a couple of kids from the piano.
I instantly google'd '' I hate Brendan Kavanagh ''.
Found this precious post.
Glad to know I am not the only one hating this twat!
Then I myself also googled "I hate Brendan Kavanagh"(as the "above" person had done).
I noticed the "Chinese" there, and MORE.

Some guy playing on the piano in public, oh and there he is trying to play at the same time instead of just waiting.

The second video I saw of his was him basically muscling some young Chinese women off the piano because he just couldn't WAIT to play. Honestly, just wait your turn dude.

His channel is full of such clickbait garbage. Always tries to upstage everyone.
Definitely does not display the humble confidence most piano players have.

I quite liked his videos, the first 2 or 3 times I stumbled across them. Now I can't get him out of my feed and it's the same clickbait routine everytime. "Oh, which one is middle C?..."
It takes a lot of skill to play boogie woogie that proficiently while simultaneously removing all of the cool.

For some reason the flair changed after I submitted. It was meant to be piano jam. I am not Brendan Kavanagh lol

Pretty justified imo. The majority of musicians despise arrogant “popular” musicians because the best musicians are always humble. Look at all the greatest and most decorated classical pianists alive today- all of them are classy, humble people who do it for the art, not for popularity or attention. That’s the point of great art. The minute your art depends on someone else’s opinion or perception, it becomes a lesser product than great art

He's so mean to other pianists though, and can't seem to let others have their moment. Ugh I really dislike him.

Am I more impressed by his playing or the fact that he's wearing shorts in November?
