Trump 第一任期的skinny budget 更狠。 最后还是讨价还价把 NIH funding 给加上去。这帮权贵也不傻。 自己的健康还是要考虑。
真要 cut 40-50%, 行政经费压不了多少，真正的科研估计会有 60% 以上 cut. 这样的 cut 这个行业 就是灭顶之灾

Nearly 600 employees at Duke University have accepted voluntary buyouts under a program initiated this spring amid significant threats to the university’s funding under the Trump administration, according to an email sent to faculty and staff on Friday. Now, per the email, the university will make involuntary layoffs across campus in August.
To address the “actual and potential federal funding reductions” — as they were referred to in Friday’s message — the university has implemented a host of cost-cutting measures, including freezing hiring and other spending in March. Then, in late April, as the university told faculty it sought to cut as much as 10% of its budget, or roughly $350 million, the university announced it would offer buyouts to staff. Those efforts were furthered by another round of buyouts for faculty, announced last month.

反正是完了，聚聚就干四年，这四年不能把民主党占优势的全fire了，彻底把民主党打趴下，四年后他会被民主党弄得死无葬身之地。

一个朋友core lab的manager， 一点提前通知都没有，直接layoff，当天就把门卡给停了。
