一个周六就装了这么个东西 UniFi Doorbell Pro
比Ring好多了， 当然也贵很多
- power by POE, wired connection, better image and fast response.
- no more subscriptions, video backup to local hard drive. Theoretically unlimited amount
- dedicate package camera, AI notification of package delivery.
- customizable greeting message.
- auto- step light when person approaches.
- look very cool.
Highly recommended

是的， 布线是最麻烦的地方。 NVR在地下室Utility room里面， 需要两根线到一楼门口。 一根到门外的， 原来的门铃是Cat3线， 不能用， 但可以拉线。 另一个室内装铃，就完全新做了， drywall上打孔穿线到地下室， 再走到server。

他家NVR用的啥系统？原来用过大华的，设置不是很友好

UniFi OS
里面主要是管理network， 还可以管video， VOIP， 门锁。
每个主机能管的东西不一样。 NVR就只能管Video和Access。 但是hard drive的容量可以非常大。主要是给small business用的， 每个楼层和入口的4k video 加backup可以存一个多月。

如果用Ring Protect Service，手机App和Camera之间有个AWS Backend Service，发给你的Push Notification什么的来自Cloud。
NVR装在家里的话，怎么连上外网到你手机的？给点技术细节吧。

从App里面根据timeline找到你要的clip， 然后选export clip。

这个也类似， NVR在local存图和AI分析， notification用Ubiquiti的server。 Ring的图存在cloud， 压缩得很小。notification也要慢一拍。

This Ubiquiti cloud service is free?
I guess NVR will be pushing higher resolution video to your phone directly, after learning your IP from the cloud service?

Yeah. Their stuff is expensive to purchase. But usage is free.
The high resolution video stays in your NVR. When you access it from app, you are seeing compressed version ( you can set preferred resolution but high resolution slows playback). Most ppl only want high resolution when downloading clip.
