The Pacific Gas and Electric Co. is warning customers in parts of Northern California that it may shut off the power to lower the risk of fires this weekend because of dry conditions and expected dry winds.
PG&E said it will likely shut off power in parts of San Joaquin, Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Merced and San Benito counties starting Saturday around 11 a.m. or noon. The shutoffs would last until around 11 a.m. or noon on Sunday.
