Tesla's approach to making its Supercharger network accessible to non-Tesla electric vehicles is evolving. Here's a breakdown of how it currently works and what to expect:

Current Situation:
* Magic Dock: Some Tesla Supercharger stations are equipped with what's known as a "Magic Dock." This integrated adapter has both a Tesla-style North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector and a Combined Charging System (CCS1) connector. If a station has a Magic Dock, non-Tesla EVs with a CCS1 port can plug directly in without needing a separate adapter.

* Tesla App: To use a Supercharger, non-Tesla owners need to download the Tesla app and create an account. Within the app, there's an option to "Charge Your Non-Tesla." You can locate compatible Supercharger sites through the app, add your vehicle details and payment method, select a stall, and initiate charging.

* Availability: As of May 2025, Tesla has opened a significant portion of its Supercharger network in the United States to non-Tesla EVs. The number of Superchargers accessible to non-Tesla vehicles is continuously growing. You can filter for "Open to Other EVs" and "Open to NACS" locations on Tesla's website or within the Tesla app to see compatible stations.
Adapters:

* NACS to CCS1 Adapters: For Supercharger stations without the Magic Dock, non-Tesla vehicles with a CCS1 port require a NACS to CCS1 adapter. Tesla has been rolling out these adapters at select stations. Additionally, several third-party manufacturers like Lectron and A2Z offer these adapters for purchase.

* Manufacturer-Provided Adapters: Many non-Tesla automakers (including Ford, Rivian, GM, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Genesis, Kia, Volvo, and Polestar) have partnered with Tesla to gain access to the Supercharger network. Some of these manufacturers are providing complimentary or for-purchase NACS to CCS1 adapters to their customers.

* NACS Becoming Standard: It's important to note that a growing number of EV manufacturers (including Ford, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Polestar, Nissan, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar-Land Rover, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Mazda) are adopting Tesla's NACS connector as the standard charging port in their new EVs starting in 2025. Once these vehicles hit the market, an adapter will no longer be necessary to charge at Tesla Superchargers.
Important Considerations:

* Supercharger vs. Destination Chargers: Tesla also has "Destination Chargers" at hotels, restaurants, and other locations. These are Level 2 AC chargers and often require a different adapter (usually J1772 to Tesla) which Tesla sometimes includes with their vehicles or are available for purchase. Superchargers are DC fast chargers. NACS to CCS1 adapters are for use with Superchargers.

* Compatibility: While many non-Tesla EVs with CCS1 ports can now use Superchargers, it's always a good idea to check the Tesla app or your vehicle manufacturer's information to confirm compatibility with specific Supercharger locations. Some older Tesla V2 Superchargers might not be compatible with non-Tesla vehicles.

* Cable Length and Port Location: The charging cables at some Supercharger stalls might be shorter and designed for Tesla vehicles with rear passenger-side charging ports. This can sometimes make it challenging for non-Tesla vehicles with different port locations to connect without blocking adjacent stalls.

* Payment: Payment for charging sessions at Tesla Superchargers for non-Tesla vehicles is managed through the Tesla app. You can either pay as you go or sign up for a monthly membership for potentially lower rates.
In summary, while historically Tesla Superchargers were exclusive to Tesla vehicles, the network is now increasingly open to non-Tesla EVs through the use of integrated Magic Docks at some stations and NACS to CCS1 adapters at others. As more EVs adopt the NACS standard, the need for these adapters will eventually decrease.

tesla supercharger支持ccs只有不到10%,特黑就会瞎胡扯淡。
现在tesla基本上对其他电车厂商都要求用native 的nacs,会提供ccs to ncas adaptor给厂商用来过渡。
