问个Fidelity的问题...

最近有个Fidelity的agent打电话来，问我要不要把账号里的core position 从cash转到money market，说是有不错的利息。我问了风险和流动性的问题，好像没啥坏处，不影响我随时买卖股票...可总是有点不放心。这里的理财大咖能指教一下吗？多谢。

可以。现在spaxx有近5%的年化利率。有个几万元现金的话，转过去挣点零花钱还是不错的。如果就几千块现金的话，那就无所谓了。

这是用Fidelity 的好处之一，活期的利息收入很高

而且如果core position 钱不够支付，它会自动卖出你账户里的其他eligible 的MM fund 来cover distribution

You can roll your cash into MM fund FZDXX with 5.18% 7 day yield (any MM will auto liquidate and pay your bill). Notice the initial buy in is 100K but once you have a position, there doesn't seem to be any minimum limit.

but need to be careful to pay estimated taxes on quarterly interest income. IRS just charged me $103.81 for "failure to pay proper estimated taxes" with interest rate 8% for 2024 and 7% for 2025. A chunk of the higher interest earned are taken by IRS.
