FREMONT, CA —Red Lobster restaurants in five Northern California locations — Fremont, Redding, Rohnert Park and Sacramento — are "temporarily closed," according to the company's website, with dozens more nationwide suddenly shuttered. The closures happened on Monday and, according to social media postings from restaurant employees, the closures came without notice.
The shuttered restaurants in Northern California include —
- Chico: 2010 Business Lane
- Fremont: 39401 Fremont Blvd.
- Redding: 1345 Dana Drive in Redding
- Rohnert Park: 6440 Redwood Drive
- Sacramento: 1400 Howe Avenue
Various media reports put the number of temporary closures nationwide at 80, but those reports include a list of restaurants that only include two of the five California closures.
Just last month, Red Lobster reported that it was considering filing for bankruptcy after suffering a substantial loss from its endless shrimp promotion.
The restaurant has been looking for a buyer, but is staggering from multiple problems including being cut off by a key supplier.
