Engine shutdown on Boeing 737 forces emergency landing in Spokane
A Boeing 737-82R’s engine shut down on a flight from Seattle to Minneapolis St. Paul Friday evening. The shutdown forced the plane to divert to Spokane, where it landed safely.
The flight was with Sun Country Airlines. The airline said they worked to provide accommodations for our passengers overnight and the flight departed at 10:30 a.m. on another aircraft.
The engine shutdown came a day after federal officials said they are investigating an unusual rolling motion on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 MAX that might have been caused by a damaged backup power-control unit.
This is yet another incident with Boeing 737 planes since the door blowout on Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 in January.
