进入八月以来，短短几日，猴痘疫情在美国飞速传播，几乎失控。7月29日，纽约州宣布预计该州将因猴痘疫情进入紧急状态持续至8月28日。两日后的8月1日，加州州长纽瑟姆也宣布加州进入紧急状态。
