2016 GLC300 Turbo charger failed according to dealer just after B service and car has 48K miles.! Any suggestions on why turbo would fail just after the service? Does incorrect service could cause this problem? They are saying that Turbocharger vaccum accutator failed and they have to replace whole assembly! I can't belive that just after B service this failed. They did replace all the filters and spark plugs etc.

I have a 2017 GLC300 with about 90,000mil, the engine light is on with the heavy gas smell in car. I take it the dealer. The dealer told me the fuel line is leaked but within warranty. The engine light is on because the turbocharger have failed lacking power and recommend to replace turbocharger. It will cost $6600. Has anyone met the same situation? Thanks.


Currently own a 2015 G63 with approximately 45K on the clock. I drive it fairly conservatively and always dealer maintained at the regular service intervals. Few days ago, check engine light comes on and I notice a drop in the power output. Took it into the dealer today for my auxiliary battery replacement, and asked them to take a look at the CEL as well. They texted me the quote, stating that both front turbos failed and needed to be replaced, motor / transmission mounts need to be replaced / oil leak on the front cam cover requiring them to be resealed, and a few other small things - all for a grand total of around $23k.

Just off the phone to Mercedes who have advised me that this was due to the turbo failing and will require a new turbo. They also confirmed this is why there was no oil left.

The exact details of the repair read as follows:
"Turbo faulty, DPS contaminated, oil level very low Req turbo, DPF and oil top up"

And the cost:
£3274.92

They have also said they will not be offering any goodwill on this occasion since the car is 5 and a half years old (apparently the max for goodwill is 5 years) and since the car was not serviced by them (however does have a full service history.)

现在我家一台2016 GLE 350，一台2022 pacifica hybrid，都需要换，来版上征求一下意见。乘坐舒适优先，最不需要是加速性能，前几天试驾model X，可能加速踩得稍微有点猛，娃直接吐车上了，害得我跟sales道歉好久……

2016 GLE 350
里程不高差不多6万迈，但德车年纪大了维护实在太贵。这周换机油时小店提出brake该换了要两千多刀，front struts有leak要换又两千多刀。去年保养已经花大概三千修engine漏油，而车外壳被家人撞的到处是伤，body shop quote 8000刀。这车就算全修一遍也卖不出两万吧，而且没有任何辅助驾驶功能，滑雪trip费劲，实在是不想再往里投钱，准备换掉了。因为家里有充电口，倾向于5座电车SUV。现在可能ioniq5是最便宜的，ev6稍贵点。model Y因为要换新款了不想现在弄旧的，但促销确实不错，年底可能有更大的优惠，model 3太小了不想考虑。

2022 pacifica hybrid
现在正躺在dealer那，等着换上第四个transmission。两年不到2.7万迈这么多drama，实在不想留着这辆车了，已跟customer service开了一个buy back的claim。家里人口多，感觉minivan或其它后备厢空间大的7座车是刚需，但minivan现在没啥选择吧，不想当冤大头加价买sienna。另外希望大车能进山滑雪，所以最好有四驱，carnival和odessey这方面不能完全满足需求。平时要跟领导分别开车上班，不想买又贵又大又费油的full size SUV。这次修车租到一辆kia sorento感觉空间嫌小，以前看过subaru ascent之类的车也差不多，第三排立起来几乎没有后备厢空间，都是第三排坐上人后连买菜都勉强的车。不知道还有什么好的选择。

或者养三辆车，两辆commute car一辆大车？感觉太奢侈。

turbo的又多了一个会坏的部件。作为备用车，不考虑省油，只考虑可靠性和维护保养的难易度。

我从来没说过奔驰宝马是good value，这取决于你对value的定义。我觉得驾驶感，舒适性什么的是最大的value，可靠性在我眼里基本是BS。但是有人会觉得油耗可靠性是最大的value，驾驶技术差的对驾驶感毫无概念。

辅助驾驶无脑Model Y，其他都是垃圾

娃坐在车上相信tesla的辅助驾驶都属于冒险家类型
不论模型如何训练，各种corner case对比正常驾驶永远都是imbalanced data，所以单纯靠一种数据理论上永远不可能训练好。但是tesla又不肯花钱加硬件弄多种数据理由就是人就是靠眼睛开车，我不知道Musk自己是不是敢于把自己鼻子耳朵统统堵上然后穿着让自己身体感受不到周边环境然后开上个几个小时到各种情况看看。

今天给几家评分高的店打电话，换前后brake+rotor报价都在2000左右，看来湾区就这价了。你会修车所以对可靠性不在乎，我没时间耗在这上边，以后还是得弄个可靠的车。

乘客舒服其实是很多所谓豪华车的核心，tesla的车确实孩子坐着不喜欢。18年开着model S带着孩子出去玩，孩子说不喜欢不舒服。

他那是4-6年才需要换一次的东西。有的甚至10年都不换。
