The guy won the primary. Curtis Sliwa (Republican) won't beat him in November. Sliwa is a good guy and very entertaining on local talk radio, but he won't win.

So the only way for the Dems to undo this primary is to back Cuomo as an independent. That won't happen either.

The best option for the Dems right now is to have people like Schumer get Mamdani to leave the "far far left" and take some steps back toward "only slightly far left". Schumer is closely tied to the NYC financial industry. The best scenario is tell Mamdani "we'll look the other way when you steal a few billion and get rich, but don't chase investment banking out of NYC"

Problem with that is Mamdani is backed by the Soros / AOC wing of the Dem party, and they want him to destroy NYC.

No. Immigration made 2024 unwinnable for the Dems. It was more important for them to get 20-30 million people into the country than it was to win the next election. It was a conscious choice they made.
