你不妨拿斯坦福跟它比。大多数专业都能排到前五。理工就更不用说了，还有基本的文科。从2017年到去年，排名在并列的5到7。哥伦比亚就那理工水平和整体大学（相关）水平，有什么好抱怨的？
你要拿哥大跟什么家宝的范德彪比呢？不全方位碾压吗？
另外，理工，尤其是工，在排名里面占比太少了。普渡理工好，它综合排第几阿？

你们有人对columbia的印象好可能与前些年它的排名很高有很大关系吧？

The rise of the New York City-based university's ranking caught the eye of Columbia math professor Michael Thaddeus, as he noted in a blog post in February the university had continued to climb the rankings ever since they were No. 18 in the initial release in 1988.
After examining data the university sent to the publication to determine how the meteoric rise occurred, Thaddeus concluded Columbia had major discrepancies in student and faculty information that worked in the school's favor. He also found the school did not disclose full financial data, as well as graduation and transfer rates.
"As we will see, several of the key figures supporting Columbia’s high ranking are inaccurate, dubious, or highly misleading," Thaddeus wrote.
Red flags were also raised by U.S. News & World Report; the publication removed Columbia from the rankings list in July after it "failed to respond to multiple U.S. News requests that the university substantiate certain data it previously submitted to U.S. News."
After much controversary surrounding university's ranking, Columbia Provost Mary Boyce admitted in a statement Friday the university had not given "complete accuracy" in its data. Two things Columbia admitted were reportedly incorrectly were its undergraduate class size data and that 100% of its faculty had a Ph.D or terminal degree.
"Anything less than complete accuracy in the data that we report – regardless of the size or the reason – is inconsistent with the standards of excellence to which Columbia holds itself. We deeply regret the deficiencies in our prior reporting and are committed to doing better," Boyce said.
U.S. News & World Report had initially said Columbia was not going to be included in the updated rankings, but ultimately ranked No. 18 this year, tied with the University of Notre Dame.

而且我前面其实说了：大学排名其实是不该考虑那些职业学院的，但应该是尽量全面而不是过于侧重/过于忽略主要的大方面。职业学院的人几乎都是本科已经毕业过了。
你看看前面那文章吧。前些年它的排名高是靠了数据方面的严重误导。如果那些（数据和排名问题）都没发生过，你我可能也没多少可辩论的了。我不想说太多了。

而且刚刚又提到了专业。
你可以回头看。
学校排名往往是虚的。Columbia前些年的排名更是不靠谱（有几个常青藤多数有或有过这个问题）。你看CMU的CS，行业里的谁不知道？

CMU全球排名108. 而university of pitt排名是它的一半都不到。USNews到底知道不知道自己在干什么？

一直是这样的。本土排名和国际排名有大出入。多少有些道理。国际学生需求不同，经济状况也不同。公立学校更有合理价值。UCB是最有名的一个例子。
在20多年前，大多数国内人可能知道匹兹堡大学，但可能不知道cmu。
cmu的本土排名一直没怎么变。
