一直在JIFFY LUBE换油。半年前,JIFFY LUBE的TECHNICIAN发现ENGINE VOLVE附近有很多 黑色油乎乎的沉积物,检查后说要换Valve-stem seal,就换了,不算很贵,$300.00。

我前面的贴子讲,换Valve-stem seal需 $5,000 是信口开河。因我没有店家换Valve-stem seal的经历。
Blue smoke, $300 换Valve-stem seal, 也是正确的操作。

Often accompanied by reduced compression and power.
Valve Seal or Valve Guide Wear
Oil leaks past the valves into the combustion chamber.
Often causes smoke during startup after the car has been sitting.
PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) System Problem
A stuck or clogged PCV valve can draw oil into the intake.
Turbocharger Issues (if turbocharged)
Failing turbo seals can push oil into the intake/exhaust system.
Head Gasket Failure (less common for blue smoke)
Oil passages leak into the cylinders, though white smoke is more common if coolant is involved.
When It Happens Tells You More
On startup only → Valve seals likely.
During acceleration/load → Worn piston rings or cylinder walls.
During deceleration → Valve guides/seals.
Constantly, especially with whistling/boost loss → Turbo seals.
If left unchecked, the issue can cause high oil consumption, fouled spark plugs, catalytic converter damage, or full engine failure.

每天早上 第一次启动车,就喷这个BLUE GAS一次,当天其他时候 再停车-启动 就没有任何烟了。第二天早上,又重复SAME THING。During acceleration/load → Worn piston rings or cylinder walls.
During deceleration → Valve guides/seals.
Constantly, especially with whistling/boost loss → Turbo seals.

I have to say, this doesn't make much sense. Are you sure it's not the spark plug seal or valve cover gasket that's being replaced?
A bad valve stem seal will allow oil to leak down the valve stem, through the valve, and into the cylinder, which can cause blue smoke during cold starts. However, how could Jiffy Lube know there's a valve stem seal leak without opening the valve cover? The technician probably noticed an oil leak on the valve cover, but that would have nothing to do with the valve stem seal.
Also, $300 for a valve cover gasket is a good price. It's unlikely he replaced 8 or 16 valve stem seals without also replacing the valve cover gasket. Is the Jiffy Lube technician even qualified to work on valve stem seals? I don't think Jiffy Lube hires SAE-certified technicians, at least in my town.

被宰了,还把车弄坏了

换机油居然连盖子都不见了,直接造成活塞环和气缸内壁非润滑摩擦产生高温,很短的时间就损坏活塞环和气缸的密闭精度。没药可救。

refreshed 写了: 2025年 9月 24日 19:40我是 觉得跟 半年前 JIFFY LUBE 换SEAL有关系,因为之前都是 一个星期不开车,才有这种 蓝色气体出来,现在是每天早上都有,应该没那么巧合吧? 我刚换这个 新 SEAL的时候,出JIFFY LUBE的门,我就感觉车在 3 挡(低速时的加速挡)的加速明显比 进车铺修之前 要差了,就是加速比较绵。这个老车 开起来还是蛮舒服的,不指望买新车的性价比 会比老车好很多。BUDGET $1000内都可以修。
你这问题1000可修不好。3000块差不多

多年前我有个老Camry, 冒大量蓝白烟,到处问都说什么engine rebuild, 三四千那时的价. 那车都不值那么多.
偶然看到Scotty的一个video, 说换个reverse什么的valve. 十块钱不到,换起来一点也不难. 换完了发动,烟没了.
