今天要给大家强烈安利一首英文歌曲，这首歌并不是新近的打榜音乐，没有炫酷的伴乐，B-box等多元化的欧美乐风，而是清新的美国乡村音乐。2014年发布，2016年荣获第58届格莱美奖“最佳乡村单曲”。这首歌的演唱组合，名字很有特色，小大城镇（Little Big Town）。

歌曲的主题也别具一格，“爱慕前男友的现女友”。或许是太过喜欢某个男人，痴迷到想要放弃自己，幻想成为拥有前男友的那个女人。那个女人所有的一切都有着致命的吸引力

这首歌本来是女生唱的，现在是男生唱，歌的旋律非常棒，歌是好歌，就是这个爱情观有点扭曲性取向有点混乱哇

He makes it so earnest and soulful. His spotify version is particularly gentle and heartbreaking. At the BBC he wails. Both versions hurt me in unique ways. The studio original by Little Big Town is a little playful, but any version of Harry’s cover is stripped and slowed down. It’s mournful and raw, much closer to Little Big Town’s live version (watch here). He feels it.

He doesn’t change the pronouns which is crazy and amazing and painful. “ I want to taste her lips / Yeah, ‘cause they taste like you” He’s singing about wanting to be with the person this girl is with, “you.” The love interest could be a girl or a guy but the focus on a singular girl crush (and how feminine she is) seems to imply the other person is of a different gender.

When Little Big Town sings it, it’s a lady vocalist so initially, we assume she is interested in a woman until we understand she just wants who the woman has. Surprise heterosexuality! When Harry sings it, we get surprise homosexuality. It’s gut-wrenching to listen to him sing he wishes he could be a girl just to be with “you.” Suddenly the love interest isn’t only distracted by someone else with a “magic touch”, they are also seemingly not interested in men. He adds several layers of tension and queer meaning to the song just by keeping the pronouns from the original.

不知道这个男歌手是什么性向 不过我的感觉是他只是忠实翻唱原歌词（也很难改歌词，如果把her变成his，其他女性描写的歌词也要重写），更重视的是自己的演绎。原唱是乡村音乐风格，整体比较平。翻唱后半部分一下子高潮了，爆发力很强。当然我这是纯粹的text analysis；如果翻唱歌手寄托个人性取向情怀，那也不是不可以
