Russian companies' revenues exceeded QUADRILLION rubles for first time ever

The revenue of Russian companies in 2022 doubled by 2021 and exceeded a quadrillion rubles (number with 15 zeros), RBC reported citing data from the Federal Tax Service of Russia.

According to the Service, Russian companies in 2022 declared revenues of 1,268 trillion rubles (nearly 1.3 quadrillion). This is almost twice the revenue of 2021, which amounted to 655 trillion rubles.

The doubling of revenue is due to two reasons: the growth of export earnings of gasoil companies, as well as the recovery of consumer demand for goods, works and services.

However, despite a two-fold increase in revenues, companies' profits rose slightly – from 29.4 trillion rubles in 2021 to 31.1 trillion rubles (by 5.9%).

Experts attribute this discrepancy to inflation and increased business costs due to sanctions. Additionally, the revenue of Russian firms may have been affected by changes in the structure of suppliers in the domestic market.

UN cannot help connect Russian Agricultural Bank to SWIFT – Russian MFA

The United Nations acknowledged during the latest round of consultations with Russia in Geneva that it could do nothing to address three of Moscow's five key requirements for extending the grain deal, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said.

Those three requirements include:
restoring the operation of the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline
reconnecting Russian Agricultural Bank to SWIFT
lifting restrictions on the supply of spare parts for agricultural machinery to Russia.

"In essence, unfortunately, during the last consultations, UN representatives admitted that they couldn't do anything. They even said there is no such prospect. This is very sad," Vershinin noted.

The diplomat added that July 18 is likely to be the last day of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, although he did not rule out a possible new round of consultations with the UN on the grain deal.

"We continue to have contacts, including working ones. But we're going to do what we said we would do. That is, we are working to ensure that July 18 will be the time to complete those agreements that are not being implemented," Vershinin said.
