He has taken a tough-on-crime stance in the elec­tion and has staked out the wide-open po­lit­i­cal space to the right of Ms. Light­foot. He has the back­ing of the Chicago po­lice union, the Fra­ter­nal Or­der of Po­lice Lodge 7.
