Donald Trump mocked by Ukraine with sarcastic remark after huge drone attack

Ukrainians couldn't help but mock Donald Trump after Kyiv's crushing assault on Russian airfields on Sunday. The ambitious strikes reportedly dished out a staggering $5 billion blow to the Russian Air Force, coming just after Trump claimed to have "protected" Russia.

Intelligence from Ukraine alleges that around 40 Russian aircraft, including heavy bombers, were wiped out in the startling drone onslaught. The attack left the Kremlin reeling and astonished the globe, showcasing once more Ukraine's prowess in striking deep into Russia. Ukrainian officials reveled in their bold military feat, seizing the moment to skewer the US President.

Trump has consistently adopted a hard stance toward Zelensky, pointing the finger at him for igniting the conflict, insinuating that Ukraine was on the brink of collapse and "had no cards to play." It comes as Melania Trump signaled her "anger" at her husband in a humiliating way.( https://www.irishstar.com/news/us-news/ ... p-35307607 )

After engaging with both Putin and Zelensky in February, Trump announced at a White House briefing: "I've had very good talks with Putin, and I've had not such good talks with Ukraine.

"They (Ukraine) don't have any cards, but they play it tough. But we're not going to let this continue." Riding high on the card metaphor, Business Ukraine magazine dropped a cheeky seven-word taunt aimed at Trump.

"Today Zelensky played the King of Drones," they quipped as word of the airborne attacks broke, reports the Express. Illia Ponomarenko, a Ukrainian defense journalist, acerbically alluded to Zelensky's embarrassment in the Oval Office.

"This is what happens when a proud nation under attack doesn't listen to all those: 'Ukraine has only six months left'. 'You have no cards'. 'Just surrender for peace; Russia cannot lose.'"

Meanwhile, social media buzzed with a meme of a resolute President Zelensky decked out in a suit of cards.

The Ukrainian head honcho, who famously showed up at the White House in his military fatigues—a look he's rocked since the war went full throttle—has become an emblem of defiance.

In a fresh bid for peace, Russian and Ukrainian delegates convened once more in Istanbul, aiming to jumpstart talks.

Russia proposed a "partial ceasefire" lasting a couple of days to let both sides retrieve their fallen warriors.
