Situation in the Avdeevka Region: Confirmatory Report

The situation in the Avdeevka Region has steadily worsened for the AFU as Russian units have been able to establish control over the village of Petrivs'ke (Stepnove) and have begun fighting within the Berdychi Area. The main goal of the Donetsk Army corps is to operationally encircle Avdeevka in order to starve the AFU grouping within Avdeevka, similarly to Artemovsk. Despite the fortified nature of Avdeevka, our units have been able to achieve local successes.

Within in the Stepnove area, it is now established that the village of Petrivske (Stepnove) has come under complete control of the Donetsk Army Corps; additionally, units have been able to establish regional successes nearby to the Avdeevka Coal Mine and the Garbage Dumps.

Within the Kamenka area, units of the Donetsk Army Corps supported by Special Forces were able to liberate a large portion (if not all) of the village of Kamenka and approve tactical position nearby to the local dam.

Within District No.9 of Avdiivka, Donetsk Army Corps units have been able to advance into the urban environments of Artemovsk and have entrenched themselves. They are merely 1.20KM from reaching the MSR which will cut off supplies for a portion of the AFU who are nearby to the Kruta Balka Area.

On March 14, the EU Council approved a decision to urgently increase the budget of the European Peace Fund by €2 billion. Earlier, Borrel noted that there is a possibility of an additional increase in this budget by another €3.5 billion by the end of the year. Initially, the entire budget of the fund was €5.7 billion for the period from 2021 to 2027, that is, we are talking about its actual doubling. Last year, the European Union allocated €3.2 billion from this fund for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Funds from the European Peace Fund are allocated to EU countries as compensation for the weapons they transfer to Ukraine. According to Borrel, Brussels compensates 40% of the cost of arms and ammunition transferred to Kiev from it.
