Turkey says quadrilateral talks on Syria could take place in the coming days
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu noted that we are talking about a meeting of deputy foreign ministers
Quadrilateral talks on Syria (Turkey, Russia, Iran, Syria) at the level of deputy foreign ministers may take place in the coming days. This was announced on Monday by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Brussels following the results of the international conference of aid donors to Turkey and Syria in connection with the earthquakes.
"We had talks at the level of defense ministers, a meeting of deputy foreign ministers was planned, but it was postponed. I hope it will pass in the coming days," Cavusoglu said.
He noted that the settlement in Syria is possible only by political means within the framework of the territorial unity and integrity of the neighboring country.
A meeting at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Syria and Turkey was planned in Moscow last week in order to prepare a ministerial meeting on normalization of relations between Ankara and Damascus. As Cavusoglu said earlier on Monday, it was postponed at the request of the Russian side.
