Noam Chomsky has an interesting point. Systems like ChatGPT has nothing to do with intelligence, precisely because it is too strong. It works as well no matter what data you throw at it. It works equally well, if not better, when the data are incoherent non-human intellectual things. Therefore, by definition, its capability is not about intelligence, hence it is not AI.
If it is too strong, there’s no way it can be fixed. If it is too weak, there’s hope of fixing it, by adding more. But if it is too strong, it’s a dead end.
