Are you using the right type of fluid? If so, it's important to address the belt slipping problem. In addition, you may need a new power steering (PS) pump. The power steering pump has vanes in grooves that don't push fluid until spinning fast enough. Too-thick fluid or
contaminants could prevent the centrifugal force from moving the vanes into the right position to push fluid and produce hydraulic pressure, which explains the initial few seconds of no assist. Bad O-rings or seals could allow air into the pump, causing foaming, but this alone should not lead to a complete loss of assist.

你的问题其他人一开始就说对了方案,以前我其他帖子里好像也说过,就是reservoir filter堵塞了,造成低压管流量不足,pump没有液体就会吱吱响,转向有卡顿感,长时间这样泵没有液体散热会烧掉,如果每次短时间热车后液体粘度降低症状消失,那么损坏还不至于要更换泵。你还有第二个问题,液体泡沫化说明进空气了,基本是低压管进口O ring老化。把reservoir和高低压O rings一起换了,总共20来块吧

The casing for the rotary pump is not a perfect circle. As the pump turns, the fluid is pushed into a smaller space to increase the pressure. The vanes slide inside grooves to conform with the shape of the enclosure as the rotor turns. When the pump stops, the top vanes will fall down due to gravity, leaving spaces between the vanes and the casing. At this condition, the pump has no load, as fluid will escape between the vanes and the casing. As the pump picks up sufficient speed, centrifugal force swings the vanes out, allowing the pump to push and compress fluid to produce pressure.

It's pretty obvious to see how the vanes move if you take the pump apart. There are some YouTube videos about pump rebuilds that can provide a helpful visual explanation.

I rebuilt a decommissioned Honda power steering pump to use as a fluid transfer pump, driven by a power drill. If you use it to pump thicker fluids, such as engine oil, you may not be able to get it pumping again at a 1300 rpm drill speed in winter temperatures. The solution is to use a small amount of transmission fluid to prime the pump; the thinner transmission fluid will allow the vanes to move into the right position and enable the pump to function again.

thanks a lot for your kind help and time! you are really knowledgable. my car manual tells the transmission fluid spec is psf-3. I can only find lucas transmission fluid whose sec include the psf-3, not sure if lucas psf has higher viscosity than my old one.
one youtube video adds Seafoam Trans Tune into psf, because it can dissolve gum, varish in pump, gear. will this product help with my issue?

我记得看过这个,PSF-3实际上就是福特的Dexron-II。你可以去随便买个Dexron-III的变速箱油用就行了,Dexron-III是backward compatible with Dexron-II的。现在纯Dexron-II的油基本买不到了。

如果想要更好的清洁能力,可以买个synthetic ATF比如Valvoline maxlife ATF什么的。

I am not an expert on additives. I think seafoam has a good reputation. If you want to try it, let us know if it helps. Try to switch to a fluid thinner at low temperature should help.
